Overall, I like it. The stuff is good, and the variety is decent, but obviously it would be better if there were more options to pick from. Not a huge selection, but it does the job.

I was curious to try this place because they have some really unique spices, but i ended up not knowing what to do with most of them. A lot of it felt a little too unusual for everyday cooking, at least for me, and the prices seemed high for things I probably won’t use much. I expected a bit more guidance or at least some acknowledgment that it can be confusing for first-time buyers, so an apology or better help would’ve gone a long way

My first thought when the order showed up was that the box looked a little rough. It did arrive on time and everything was there, which I appreciated, but the packaging felt kind of flimsy. One of the jars had some spice dust around the lid, and the box was a bit banged up. Nothing was actually broken, so it wasn’t a huge issue, but for the price I expected it to be packed a little more securely

I really like the focus on farmers, and the spices are definitely good!! I just wish they shared a bit more about how pricing works and what kind of impact they’re actually making. It would make me feel even better about buying from them.

I stopped by hoping to pick up a few things I actually needed, but of course they were out of stock again. Super convenient. I guess I’ll just keep checking back and pretending that’s not annoying.

The spices tasted kind of stale to me, like they’d been sitting around for a while. I mean, for the price, I just didn’t feel like they were really worth it.

I don’t know, these just didn’t seem very fresh to me. The smell was kind of stale, and the flavor had that old spice taste, if that makes sense.

I liked the idea of the refill pouch, but it wasn’t as convenient as I hoped!! It got a bit messy when I tried to pour it, and I really wish the pouch resealed better after opening.

I wanted to like them. But the support was slow. I asked a question about my order and waited days for a reply. When they finally answered, it didn’t really solve anything. I had to follow up again. For the price, I expected basic help to be easier. Not a great experience.

I had an issue with my order from burlapandbarrel.com where one of the items was missing, and I didn’t hear back as quickly as I expected. I ended up having to follow up which was a little frustrating honestly

They did fix it in the end and sent the missing item, so I do appreciate that. I just wish the communication had been a bit quicker, overall not a bad experience, just not the smoothest

I ordered a few spices after hearing everyone hype them up, so maybe I’m partly to blame for expecting a big wow moment. But the flavor just felt weaker than I thought it would be. I ordered a gift set from Burlap & Barrel for a friend’s birthday and paid extra for shipping because I wanted it to actually show up on time. It didn’t. It arrived a few days late, so instead of feeling like a thoughtful birthday surprise, it turned into one of those awkward “your gift is still coming” situations.

When it finally got there, the packaging looked kind of roughed up too, which didn’t help. Customer service did reply eventually, but it was slow and mostly sounded like the usual polished company language without really making anything better. I wouldn’t trust them again for a gift.

This jar is a pain to use. The mouth is way too narrow, so getting anything out is awkward, and the lid gets messy almost immediately. What’s more frustrating is when issues like this get brushed off with a “that’s our policy” kind of excuse instead of actually acknowledging the design problem.

I wanted to be into this, I really did, but I’m not seeing much solid info on how much of the money actually gets to farmers. There are plenty of feel-good little farmer stories and all that branding fluff, but not enough details I can actually verify. For a brand that makes such a big deal about farmer impact, this whole “we’re helping farmers” act left me unsure and a bit disappointed

The product itself is actually good, which was a nice surprise after waiting longer than I expected for it to show up. Shipping definitely wasn’t the fastest, but at least the item made up for it once it finally arrived.

I was expecting it to have a much stronger, fresher smell, but when I opened it, the scent was flat. It wasn’t terrible or anything, just kind of underwhelming. If something is being sold like it’s supposed to smell fresh, I feel like it should actually live up to that.

I really like how Burlap & Barrel actually shows the farm and where everything comes from, it just feels more transparent you know. Makes me feel a little better ordering from them. The prices are definitely on the higher side, so I’d say 4 stars for me, but the sourcing info is great.

I was hoping the recipes would give me more practical help, but they didn’t really do much for me. I like clear, specific instructions when I’m trying something new, and the usage tips felt too vague to be useful.
